A 16-year-old differently-abled boy was allegedly assaulted at a residential school for children with special needs in Karnataka’s Bagalkot.

A disturbing video of the incident has surfaced online. The incident took place at the Divyajyoti School for Differently Abled Children in Bagalkot. In the video, the boy is seen being thrashed with a belt and a plastic pipe.

Despite collapsing to the ground and crying in pain, with his legs pinned down, the attack continued mercilessly, according to a report by NDTV.

The main accused has been identified as Akshay Indulkar, who allegedly led the assault. His wife, Anandi, is seen in the video throwing chilli powder into the boy's eyes, adding to the brutality.

Adding to the outrage, the person filming the incident can be heard laughing instead of stepping in to stop the violence.

According to sources, the video was leaked by a former employee of the institution, triggering widespread anger among parents and members of the public, according to a report by News18.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents, police have registered an FIR in the case. Four people, including Akshay Indulkar, have been detained for questioning.
