Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been granted a 40-day parole, sources told PTI on Sunday. Singh is currently lodged at Sunaria Jail in Rohtak, Haryana, where he is serving a 20-year sentence.

The parole was approved by the Rohtak Divisional Commissioner, and Singh is expected to be released either on Sunday or Monday, officials said.

This is the second time in five months that the rape and murder convict has been granted a 40-day parole. He was earlier released on parole in August last year.

With the latest approval, this marks the 15th occasion Ram Rahim has been released from jail on parole or furlough since his conviction.

Ram Rahim is serving a 20-year prison term following his conviction in the rape of two women disciples. He is also serving a life sentence for the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati.

The Dera chief was last released on parole in August 2025, which he reportedly used to celebrate his 58th birthday.
