ED arrested Nawab Malik on February 23 in connection with the money laundering case. The minister was ordered to the ED's custody until March 3 by the Special PMLA Court.
The NCP leader's lawyers also submitted motions for home food, medicine, and his lawyer's presence during interrogation. As a result, the ED has agreed to supply Malik's medications as well as allow his lawyer's presence during interrogation.
Malik was not cooperative in the interrogation, sources informed news agency ANI earlier in the day.
"Have been arrested, but won't be scared. We will fight and win," the minister said.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut claimed that central probe agencies were targeting BJP political opponents "who expose falsehood".
"This is a challenge to the Maharashtra government. The central investigation agencies, like a mafia, are targeting BJP's political opponents who expose falsehood. But, truth will prevail and the fight will continue," Raut said.
