'Centre will put last nail in coffin of terrorism': Yogi Adityanath meets Pahalgam attack victim's family

Adityanath met the grieving family, expressed condolences, and assured them of all possible support from the state government.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday visited the residence of Shubham Dwivedi, one of the 26 victims of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, and paid floral tributes to him before his final rites were performed in Kanpur.

Dwivedi, a 28-year-old software engineer, got married just two months ago and was on a trip to Kashmir when terrorists attacked civilians in the Baisaran valley near Pahalgam. His mortal remains arrived in Lucknow on Wednesday night, where Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak offered tributes at the airport.

 

The UP CM said, "On April 22, a terrorist attack took place in J&K's Pahalgam in which one person from Kanpur was killed. Shubham Dwivedi got married two months ago, and he was killed in the terror attack there. This is a very cowardly attack by the terrorists and shows that terrorism is on its last breath...This type of incident is not acceptable in a country like India..."

"The actions of the central government will put the last nail in the coffin of terrorism...The Union HM has inspected the areas, and further steps will be taken to resolve the problem of terrorism. The country should believe in PM Modi's leadership," he added, ANI reported.

Adityanath said, "I have met with the family of Shubham Dwivedi...Final rites will take place...Shubham Dwivedi was the only son of the family. The family is in grief. I pray the soul rest in peace. The country stands with them. I also assure that the accused in this horrific incident will not be spared, and stringent action will be taken against them. This double government has been working on the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, and it will continue to work on that..."

Yogi Adityanath met the grieving family, expressed condolences, and assured them of all possible support from the state government.
