A businessman was left critically injured after his legs were deliberately crushed under a Thar SUV by a group of men in Lucknow, police said. The victim has been identified as Pawan Patel, a sand trader.

According to initial findings, the attackers pinned Patel to the ground and placed one of the SUV’s wheels on his legs, holding him in that position for nearly 25 minutes inside the Summit Building complex. He was eventually freed after police arrived at the spot and, with the help of local residents, managed to move the vehicle.

Videos from the scene show people attempting to push the SUV while Patel can be seen trapped beneath it and in visible distress. Police personnel later pulled him out from under the vehicle and rushed him to a hospital.

Doctors have described his condition as serious, and he remains under medical treatment.

Police said two of the accused have been taken into custody, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest others involved in the assault. The motive behind the attack is being investigated.
