HS Result West Bengal LATEST Updates: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is has been declared today. Students can check their results via the board's official websites: wbresults.nic.in and wbchse.nic.in. SMS facility will be open from 4 pm onwards. At least 8 lakh students took the WBBSE 12th exam this year. This year, similar to many other boards there will be no merit list announced. Students require a minimum of 30 percent overall in all the compulsory subjects to pass the Class 12 board. Candidates who fail to pass this attempt will have a chance when the board conducts supplementary examinations.
Once the results are available, students will be required to collect their original mark sheet from their respective schools from July 31 onwards. We bring you the live updates here.

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) conducted the Class 12 examinations in March this year, but some exams were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and consequent lockdown.
In 2019, as many as 777,000 students appeared for the West Bengal Class 12 Board exam, out of the 790,000 that registered. Pass percentage in 2019 was 86.29 percent. This year, 800,000 students have appeared for the exam across the state. There will be no merit list this year, while in 2019 139 students took the top 10 spots. The results have been delayed a little this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The examinations were held in March, but some papers had to be cancelled due to the lockdown. The remaining papers were held on June 29, July 2 and July 6. Thus, while results in 2019, were declared on May 27, this year it is on July 17 (today).
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSEE) was established through the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Act 1975. The Council has been entrusted the task of regulating the school education system at the 10+2 level. For those who opt for review or scrutiny, please note that the scrutiny fees have been reduced to Rs 50 from Rs 60, and the review fees have been cut to Rs 75 from Rs 100.
Diverging from the country-wide pattern, boys fared better than girls in the West Bengal HS 12th board exams as well. As many as 90.44 percent boys pass the exam, while 90 percent girls made it through.
The West Bengal HS Class 12 Board has recorded its highest even pass percentage of 90.13 percent for 2020, compared to 86.29 percent in 2019. As many as 6.8 lakh students passed teh exam from the 7.61 lakh that attempted it.

Total 37 subjects exams were completed before March 21 after which lockdown was imposed. Review and scrutiny of answer sheets will be completed by August 31," she said.
The West Bengal board will not release a merit list or toppers list for results this year, as exams were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
