Hero Motocorp jumps 2% after receiving 13,000 Karizma XMR bookings

In September, the two-wheeler major sold 5,36,499 motorcycles, 3 percent more than it did in the year-ago period

In September, the two-wheeler major registered sales of 5,36,499 units in, marking a growth of 3 percent from the year-ago period. The company maker sold 519,980 units in September 2022.

Shares of Hero Motocorp Limited traded 2 percent higher to Rs 3,048 on October 5 morning after India's leading motorcycle manufacturer said it received 13,688 bookings for its new flagship Karizma XMR bike.

Dispatches of Karizma XMR to Hero MotoCorp dealers were on and customer deliveries would begin in the festival period this month, the company said in an exchange filing on October 4.

At 9:26 am, Hero Motocorp stock was trading at Rs 3,023, up 1.3 percent from the previous close on the NSE.

"We are committed to delivering an exceptional premium riding experience to every Karizma owner and are confident of adding cheer to the upcoming festive season,” Ranjivjit Singh, chief business officer, said in a press statement.

The Karizma XMR, launched at an introductory price of Rs 1,72,900, will be available at Rs 1,79,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the company would announce the new booking window soon.

The company had told the exchanges last week that it would marginally raise the ex-showroom prices of select motorcycles and scooters, effective October 3.

The Karizma XMR is powered by a 210cc liquid cooled DOHC engine, 6-speed transmission that comes with a slip and assist clutch.

The two-wheeler major sold 5,36,499 motorcycles in September, 3 percent more than it did in the year-ago period.

On October 4, the stock closed at Rs 2,991.45 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.80 percent from the previous close.
