
IT services major Tech Mahindra's headcount decreased by 3,098 sequentially in the third quarter ended December 31, 2025.
IT headcount for the company has declined by 2,334 employees sequentially.
Overall headcount that includes IT, BPS, sales and support staff, stood at 149,616; plunging 872 YoY.
The company’s last twelve-month (LTM) attrition has dropped to 12.3 percent, from 12.8 percent in the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), saw its headcount decline by 11,151 employees on a net basis, a period when the company is restructuring its business operations and plans to let go of about 2 percent of its workforce, or roughly 12,000 employees.
Infosys has added 5,043 employees in the third quarter, the sixth consecutive quarter in which the company ended with a higher number of employees.
HCLTech’s headcount declined marginally during the third quarter by 261 employees.
Tech Mahindra on January 16 reported a 14.1 percent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,122 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, aided by strong margin expansion. Revenue from operations rose 8.3 percent to Rs 14,393 crore in Q3 FY26, compared with Rs 13,286 crore a year ago.
Operating performance improved sharply, with EBIT climbing 40.1 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,892 crore, while the EBIT margin expanded to 13.1 percent. The company also reported new deal wins worth USD 1.1 billion during the quarter, up 47 percent from a year earlier, reflecting improving demand traction.
