FIIs net sell Rs 1230 cr in Index Futures on Fri

FIIs were net sellers of Rs 628 crore in Stock Futures; Stock Futures' OI was up by 25038 contracts.

FIIs were net sellers to the tune of Rs 1230 crore in Index Futures on Friday; Index Futures' open interest (OI) was up by 610 contracts. However, they were net buyers of Rs 1881 crore in Index Options; which OI was up by 141105 contracts.


FIIs were net sellers of Rs 628 crore in Stock Futures; Stock Futures' OI was up by 25038 contracts.


Nifty Open Interest PCR was down at 1.03 from 1.25. Highest OI outstanding was seen at 6200 Call and 5800 Put.


Nifty 6000 Call added 29.3 lakh shares in OI while Nifty 5800 Put added 12.3 lakh shares in Open Interest (OI).


Cash based selling and unwinding were seen in Hindalco, Tata Motors and Reliance Industries (RIL). Hindalco tanked 7.4%; its OI was down 12% and delivery based selling was at Rs 210 crore.


Tata Motors crashed 6.2% on Friday; its OI was down 1% and delivery based selling was at Rs 200 crore. Heavyweight RIL slipped 1.7%; its OI was down 5%


Speculative selling and fresh shorts were seen in Suzlon Energy. The stock declined 4.7% and its OI was up 28%.

Cash based selling and fresh shorts were seen in Yes Bank. The stock fell 4.3%; its OI was up 16% and total delivery volume increased at 35.6 lakh equity shares versus 13 lakh shares.
