Lenskart sees an opportunity to have 4,500 stores in India, the management said.

New stores in Tier 2 and beyond regions are now clocking more sales than the stores in the metro and Tier 1 areas record for Lenskart, the eyewear retailer, the company’s management said on February 11.

“In Tier 2 regions, the demand is more because the options there are limited. We definitely see the new store revenue in Tier 2 to be decently higher than what we see in other tiers,” Peyush Bansal, co-founder and CEO, Lenskart told analysts after announcing the company’s results.

As of the nine months to December 2025 (Q3FY26), each new store in Tier 2+ regions clocked Rs 13.2 lakh in monthly sales, Rs 1 lakh – around 8 percent – more than each new store in a metro area which came in at about Rs 12.2 lakh in monthly sales per store, company data showed.

In India, in Q3FY26, Lenskart added 169 net new stores, a 160 percent increase versus 65 net new stores added in Q3FY25. Of the 169 new stores, 71 new stores, or 41 percent, were opened only in Tier 2 and beyond markets.

So far in FY26, Lenkart has added 372 net new stores, taking its India store count to 2,439. In addition, the company has around 705 international stores.

Lenskart sees an opportunity to have 4,500 stores in India, the management said.

Ambur (Tamil Nadu), Nagarkurnool (Telangana), Sitarganj (Uttarakhand), Udalguri (Assam) and Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) are some of its Tier 2 and beyond focus areas.

Lenskart Solutions Ltd reported a sharp surge in its fiscal third quarter earnings, with consolidated net profit jumping over 70 times year-on-year to Rs 131 crore, compared with Rs 1.85 crore in the same period last year.

Revenue from operations rose 38.3 percent on-year to Rs 2,307.7 crore in Q3 FY26, up from Rs 1,668.8 crore a year earlier, reflecting continued expansion in its eyewear retail and online businesses.

The company reported an exceptional loss of Rs 5.3 crore during the quarter. This was entirely due to expenses related to the fresh issue of shares through its IPO, amounting to Rs 5.3 crore.

Total expenses for the Gurugram-based firm increased 28 percent to Rs 2,162.6 crore in the quarter ended December, up from Rs 1,690.4 crore a year ago and Rs 1,980.3 crore a quarter ago.

Its loyalty programme – Lenskart Gold – added Rs 50.5 crore in revenue during the quarter.

Further, in Q3FY26, 37 percent of sales came from Gold members, acquired prior to Q3, and in the quarter it added 0.7 million net Gold members taking its active membership base to 8.1 million as on the end of Q3FY26.
