Reliance Jio announces special offers on eighth anniversary

The Rs 899 and Rs 999 plan will have per day data limit of 2 GB, with a validity of 90 days and 98 days respectively

Reliance Jio has come out with limited period special offers on mobile recharge as it completes eight years in business.

Jio subscribers will get benefits worth Rs 700 with select quarterly and annual plans upon recharging between September 5-10, details on company website jio.com showed.

On recharge with Rs 899, Rs 999 and Rs 3599 plans, users will get the following benefits worth Rs 700:

1. OTT & Data Pack worth Rs 175, with 10 OTT & 10 GB data voucher that will have have a 28-day validity

2. Free of cost Zomato Gold Membership for three months

3. Voucher of online shopping store Ajio offering Flat Rs 500 discount on order of Rs 2999 and above

The Rs 899 and Rs 999 plan will have per day data limit of 2 GB, with a validity of 90 days and 98 days respectively. The Rs 3599 plan is being offered with a daily data quota of 2.5 GB, with a valid of 365 days, said the company. The special plan also offers subscription to ten OTTs and a 10 GB data pack with a 28-day validity, worth Rs 175.

In eight years, Reliance Jio has amassed 49 crore subscribers and the network now carries 8 percent of the global mobile traffic, with per user data consumption on Jio’s network at over 30 GB per month, the company has said. Jio now commands 60 percent of the data traffic in India.

At the 47th AGM, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani had said the Jio, along with the retail business, aims to double the revenue and EBITDA in 3-4 years. "Jio will continue to play a stellar role in building the nation’s digital infrastructure and capabilities," said Mukesh Ambani.

Reliance Industries will also be rolling out a Jio AI-Cloud Welcome offer of 100 GB of free cloud storage for Jio users, starting Diwali this year.
