Following the release of PM Kisan Yojana's 21st installment in November 2025, farmers across the country are now looking ahead to 22nd installment. The money is distributed in three installments each year: April-July, August-November, and December-March. According to several reports, the next installment is likely to be released between March-April 2026.
What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
Under the PM Kisan initiative, landholding farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, (three installments) totaling Rs 6,000 per year by the government to support their income. The initiative was announced in the Interim Budget 2019 by then-finance minister Piyush Goyal and then implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Why completing e-KYC is mandatory
The installment of many farmers gets halted only because beneficiary's e-KYC is not completed. The eligible beneficiary can get biometric KYC done online at pmkisan.gov.in or by visiting CSC.
The benefits of the scheme are being provided to those farmers whose land details are seeded in PM KISAN portal, have bank accounts seeded with Aadhaar and eKYC is completed.
Who is eligible to receive Rs 2000 installment
Only farmers who have completed eKYC, linked their bank accounts with Aadhaar, and registered their land records on the PM Kisan portal are eligible for the scheme’s benefits. It is to be noted that more than Rs. 3.70 lakh crores have been disbursed so far to over 11 crore farmer families in the country through 21 instalments.
