  • PM Kisan's 22nd installment likely between March-April 2026
  • Farmers must complete eKYC and link Aadhaar to receive benefits
  • Over Rs 3.70 lakh crore disbursed to 11 crore farmer families so far

Following the release of PM Kisan Yojana's 21st installment in November 2025, farmers across the country are now looking ahead to 22nd installment. The money is distributed in three installments each year: April-July, August-November, and December-March. According to several reports, the next installment is likely to be released between March-April 2026.

What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Under the PM Kisan initiative, landholding farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, (three installments) totaling Rs 6,000 per year by the government to support their income. The initiative was announced in the Interim Budget 2019 by then-finance minister Piyush Goyal and then implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Why completing e-KYC is mandatory

The installment of many farmers gets halted only because beneficiary's e-KYC is not completed. The eligible beneficiary can get biometric KYC done online at pmkisan.gov.in or by visiting CSC.

The benefits of the scheme are being provided to those farmers whose land details are seeded in PM KISAN portal, have bank accounts seeded with Aadhaar and eKYC is completed.

Who is eligible to receive Rs 2000 installment

Only farmers who have completed eKYC, linked their bank accounts with Aadhaar, and registered their land records on the PM Kisan portal are eligible for the scheme’s benefits. It is to be noted that more than Rs. 3.70 lakh crores have been disbursed so far to over 11 crore farmer families in the country through 21 instalments.

How to complete PM Kisan eKYC using the mobile app

Step 1:

Download the PM-KISAN mobile app and the Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store.

Step 2:

Open the PM-KISAN app and log in using the mobile number registered with PM Kisan.

Step 3:

Once logged in, go to the Beneficiary Status page.

Step 4:

Check your eKYC status. If it shows “No”, tap on eKYC, enter your Aadhaar number, and give consent for face authentication.

Follow the on-screen instructions to scan your face. Once the scan is successful, your PM Kisan eKYC will be completed. The updated eKYC status will reflect on the beneficiary page within 24 hours, no matter which method you use.

Other ways to complete eKYC for PM Kisan

  • Farmers can complete eKYC through three different modes
  • OTP-based eKYC: This is available on the PM Kisan website and the mobile app.
  • Biometric-based eKYC: This can be done at Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Seva Kendras (SSKs).

Special cases with multiple beneficiaries in one family: If more than one family member (such as husband and wife, or an adult and a minor) is receiving PM Kisan benefits, payments have been temporarily stopped. These cases will be cleared only after physical verification.
