Noida International Airport boosts connectivity with electric taxi fleet

With the electric fleet, the airport aims to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and providing ease of travel to passengers.

Noida International Airport has signed a deal for electric taxi service.

Passengers travelling to Noida International Airport (NIA) will get a premium, eco-friendly electric taxi service deployed by Mahindra Logistics Mobility to provide a sustainable medium of travel.

With the introduction of a fleet of all-electric taxis, the airport has strengthened its commitment to sustainability and providing ease of travel to passengers. This new service will provide travellers with comfortable, eco-friendly transportation options from the airport and will minimise walking distances, the airport said in a statement.

The partnership ensures 24/7 seamless service for passengers, with multiple booking channels available, including a mobile app, website, call center, airline alliances, and airport kiosks.

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of NIA, highlighted that the initiative sets a new standard for both passenger convenience and environmental responsibility, marking a significant milestone in the airport's sustainability efforts.

Schnellmann added, “At NIA, your journey will not end with baggage claim. This first-of-its-kind airport-branded cab service will set a new benchmark for passenger convenience and environmental responsibility. This is also a testament to our commitment to providing a best-in-class passenger experience, from the moment they arrive at the airport to the moment they depart for their destination.”

In addition to promoting eco-friendly travel, the fleet’s operational model also prioritizes safety and efficiency.

This development aligns with NIA’s vision of a green airport, supporting its ambitious net-zero emissions goal. The airport, which is set to accommodate 12 million passengers annually in its first phase, will eventually expand to handle up to 70 million passengers, further integrating sustainable and innovative solutions into its operations.
