Mercedes-Benz India on June 3 announced the launch of the petrol-driven C300 AMG, which replaces the C300d diesel AMG trim. Along with this, the German luxury carmaker also launched the updated C200, C220d and 2024 GLC SUV featuring additional features.
The C-Class will now be offered in three main trims - the C200 petrol, priced at Rs 61.85 lakh; the C220d diesel, priced at Rs 62.85 lakh; and the top-of-the-line C300 AMG line, priced at Rs 69 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2024 GLC will be offered in two main variants - GLC 220d 4-Matic diesel priced at Rs 76.9 lakh and GLC 300 4-Matic petrol priced at Rs 69 lakh (ex-showroom).
“Pursuing this ‘always on’ strategy, we are bolstering our ‘core luxury’ segment, comprising C-Class and GLC. The top-end C 300 AMG Line offers the right combination of peak performance and luxury features, and its introduction indicates a market shift towards higher-spec petrol powertrain,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
The topline C 300 features the sporty AMG Line exterior and interior styling with ‘night package’, Burmester 3D surround sound, digital lights, and keyless-go comfort package. The augmented reality navigation and blind spot assist features distinguish it from the new C 200 and C 220d.
The car will also come in new colour varieties, namely, Sodalite Blue and MANUFAKTUR Patagonia Red. The interiors have been updated with a centre console featuring a metal structure trim and fast-charging USB charging ports.
The M254 petrol engine in the C 300 comes with integrated starter- alternator (ISG) that can support the internal combustion engine with up to 17 kW of additional output and up to 205 Nm of extra torque. The C 300 engine provides 20 kW (27 hp) of additional output for approximately 30 seconds in the 190-kW power stage.
The C 200 and C 220d now feature climatised front seats, 360-degree camera, fast-charging USB-C ports, digital key handover and adaptive high beam assist, thus enhancing the comfort, safety and tech in the car. Further, the Sodalite Blue variety will be a replacing the Cavansite Blue colour option.
The new 2024 GLC comfort also comes with climatised front seats and offers additional safety feature such side bags in the rear, taking the count of airbags in the GLC to nine. "The multiple enhancements in comfort, technology and safety will enhance the appeal of the C-Class and GLC," added Iyer
