Hero MotoCorp Limited has announced the appointment of Harshavardhan Chitale as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 5, 2026. The decision was made at a board meeting held on September 8, 2025.
Chitale brings over three decades of global leadership experience across both B2B and B2C sectors, with expertise in industrial automation, lighting, information technology services, and digital transformation, the company said in a statement. He has held senior executive positions in publicly listed and multinational corporations.
According to Hero MotoCorp, Chitale's will accelerate the company's journey across electric and emerging mobility, premiumization, digitalization, sustainability, and organizational renewal.
Vikram Kasbekar, the Acting CEO, will work closely with Chitale to ensure a smooth handover and will continue to serve on the Board of Hero MotoCorp as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer.
Harshavardhan Chitale most recently served as Global CEO of Signify's €4 billion Professional Business, leading 12,000 employees across 70 countries and spearheading manufacturing, supply chain, product development, and digital initiatives. Earlier, as Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Philips Lighting India, he executed its spin-off into a standalone public company and consolidated market leadership. He has also held top leadership roles at HCL Infosystems and Honeywell Automation India. An alumnus of IIT Delhi, Mr. Chitale is also an active angel investor in EVs, clean energy, health-tech, and agri-tech.
