Domestic institutional investors (DII) were net sellers of shares worth Rs 1,651 crore on a day Sensex hit fresh highs, while foreign investors were net buyers of shares worth Rs 4,022 crore, provision data from NSE showed on July 12.
DIIs bought Rs 14,490 crore worth of shares and sold shares worth Rs 16,142 crore. Meanwhile, FIIs purchased Rs 19,114 crore in shares and offloaded equities worth Rs 15,092 crore during the trading session on Friday.

For the year so far, FIIs have net bought shares worth Rs 1.40 lakh crore, while DIIs have bought shares worth Rs 2.41 lakh crore.
Market view
At close, the Sensex was up 622.00 points or 0.78 percent at 80,519.34, and the Nifty 50 was up 186.20 points or 0.77 percent at 24,502.20.
Biggest gainers on Nifty 50 were TCS, Wipro, LTIMindtree, Infosys and HCL Technologies, while losers included Maruti Suzuki, Divis Labs, BPCL, Coal India and Asian Paints.
Among sectors, IT index surged 4.5 percent, and Media index added more than 2 percent. On the other hand, Realty index fell 1.5 percent, Power index fell 1 percent, Capital goods and Auto indices fell 0.5 percent, respectively.
