Mahindra XUV 3XO's bookings commence, deliveries to begin from May 26

Mahindra XUV 3XO will be available in five variants with prices starting at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

More than a fortnight after launching the 3XO, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has announced that its dealerships across the country have started taking bookings for its new subcompact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) 3XO. The homegrown utility vehiclemaker stated that the customer deliveries will begin from May 26.

The prices for the Mahindra XUV 3XO were announced last month. The most affordable SUV by Mahindra is available in five variants with prices starting at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will be taking on Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and Kia Seltos sub-four metre SUVs.

While unveiling the vehicle, Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director and CEO, auto and farm equipment sector, M&M had said: “In this Rs 6 lakh segment (of subcompact SUVs), which is 25 percent of the market, we are actually the number fifth player. This is a big opportunity for us to disrupt."

He also stated that in the next three years, the company  aims to be the number one or two in the subcompact monocoque SUV segment. To plan for this, we have to do something disruptive and that is where the 3XO comes in, he said.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO is available with three engine options, which comprises a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 109 BHP and 200 Nm, the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol ‘mStallion’ that makes 129 BHP and 230 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel that puts out 115 BHP and 300 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 6-speed AMT.

The SUV will be rolled out from M&M’s Nashik facility, where its outgoing version (earlier named XUV 3OO) was also made. The capacity of this facility is 9,000 units per month (including XUV 4OO electric SUV), which will be enhanced to 10,500 units per month in the medium term.

While unveiling the model, M&M stated that the he XUV 3XO is offered with a first-in-segment panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS.

The SUV is also equipped with a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, a new 3-spoke steering wheel in addition to  features such as dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, wireless charger, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera.
