Ernst & Young (EY) India has advised employees across its offices in the country to work from home on May 9, after several northern states were put on high alert following the escalation of attacks between India and Pakistan.
“In light of the security situation and keeping well-being of our employees in mind, all our employees in Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ahmedabad offices are advised to work from home on Friday, 9th May 2025,” an internal memo sent out to the employees said. A copy of the memo was sourced and seen by Moneycontrol.
It added, “For offices at other locations - employees may consider working from home. The situation continues to be monitored closely, and further updates will be shared over the weekend.”
EY is yet to respond to Moneycontrol’s emailed queries. Any comment from the company will be updated to reflect in the article.
This comes after Pakistan’s fresh attempts to strike military sites with drones and missiles including in Jammu and Pathankot on Thursday night. After this many states announced the closure of schools, blackouts in border districts, and cancellation of leave of police personnel and administration officials.
The stringent measures were taken in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal and Bihar in wake of Pakistan's failed attempts to attacks cities in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan. The Indian air defence system intercepted and blocked at least eight missiles and several drones launched by Islamabad.
