Private sector lender IndusInd Bank on Monday informed the exchanges of the appointment of Rajiv Anand as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. In an exchange filing, the bank stated that its board has approved Anand's designation as 'Additional Director' in the MD & CEO category, for a period of three years with his tenure set to begin on August 25, 2025.
The three-year appointment will run until August 24, 2028, pending shareholder approval at the bank's upcoming general meeting.
In the filing, the bank said that Anand brings extensive experience from his previous role as Deputy Managing Director at Axis Bank, where he spearheaded the bank's Wholesale Banking Business.
He joined Axis Asset Management Co. Ltd. in 2009, where he served as the founding Managing Director and CEO. Following his success in asset management, Anand transitioned to retail banking operations, taking on the position of President of Retail Banking at Axis Bank. Subsequently, he was inducted into the Board of Axis Bank and took over as the Head of Wholesale Banking.
Anand's educational background includes a commerce degree and professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant.
Earlier, during the Q1 FY26 investor call, IndusInd Bank Chairman Sunil Mehta had said that the bank was working to strengthen its senior management bench by identifying top-quality leadership talent, both internally and externally.
