FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever (HUL) is scheduled to release its results for the fourth quarter of FY25 today (April 24). Investors will watch closely for signals on profitability, volumes, and a potential final dividend for the stock which has surged over 7 percent in the past one month, dodging market volatility.
So, what should investors expect? Brokerages anticipate a muted quarter for HUL, with March-end results likely to reflect continued pressure on urban demand, margin challenges from higher input costs, and increased competitive intensity.
According to a Moneycontrol poll of 12 brokerages, Hindustan Unilever's revenue is projected to grow just 3 percent year-on-year to Rs 15,133 crore, while net profit may rise 3.1 percent to Rs 2,470 crore. Volumes, particularly in detergents, may remain weak despite some resilience in the home and hair care segments.
HUL shareholders eye final dividend payout
Beyond the earnings, investor attention will also be on dividend payouts. HUL has already declared three dividends aggregating Rs 53 so far this fiscal — Rs 19 and Rs 24 as interim payouts, along with a Rs 10 special dividend. The company’s board will now consider a final dividend for FY25 alongside the audited results for the financial year. HUL stock has a dividend yield of 1.7 at present.
Where to find HUL Q4 results?
The results of the FMCG major will be available on stock exchanges BSE and NSE today. "A teleconference / webcast will be hosted by Management on Thursday, 24th April 2025 at 16:00 hours (IST)," the company said on its official website. Investors can watch the press conference on the company's official YouTube channel.
HUL shares in focus
A day ahead of the results, on April 23, HUL shares closed 0.97 percent higher at Rs 2,422 apiece with volumes significantly above the 20-day average. The stock is up 2.06 percent over the past five sessions; it has gained 7.35 percent in the past month, significantly beating benchmark Nifty 50, which has risen 2.6 percent in a month.
Investors will keenly watch for cues about how India’s largest FMCG player is navigating demand headwinds and cost inflation — and whether the final dividend sweetens the outlook. The key focus will be on HUL's growth outlook and the consumer response to the new formulation of Lux and Lifebuoy. Further, experts will be watching closely for commentary on inflation and pricing outlook in both soaps and tea amid surging input costs. Additionally, demand recovery in urban consumption will be eyed.
