AU Small Finance Bank reports 37% surge in net profit in FY25

For Q4, the bank’s net profit stood at Rs 503.7 crore, up 36 percent from Rs 370.74 crore in the same quarter last year

    AU Small Finance Bank Ltd on April 22 posted a 37 percent year-on-year jump in net profit to Rs 2,106 crore in FY25 compared to Rs 1,534.72 crore in FY24.

    For the fourth quarter, the bank’s net profit stood at Rs 503.7 crore, up 36 percent from Rs 370.74 crore  in the same quarter last year.

    Total income for the quarter rose to Rs 5,031.27 crore, a rise from Rs 3,370.51 crore in Q4 FY24.

    Interest income reached Rs 4,270.60 crore, registering a 51 percent increase year-over-year.

    According to the company’s regulatory filing, the Board of Directors recommended a dividend of Rs 1 per equity share (10 percent of face value), continuing its shareholder reward policy, subject to approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

    The bank’s Capital Adequacy Ratio improved to 20.06 percent, up from 18.01 percent in the previous quarter, following the merger with Fincare Small Finance Bank.

    The merger, effective from April 1, 2024, expanded AU’s operations, asset base, and customer access, contributing to the financial performance, the filing said.

    Following the merger, AU issued 7.35 crore new equity shares and increased its paid-up capital to Rs 744.53 crore.

    Gross NPA rose to Rs 2,477.03 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,237.4 crore in FY24, but the ratio increased moderately to 2.28 percent from 1.67 percent.

    Net NPA increased to Rs 791.34 crore from Rs 401 crore, with the ratio moving up to 0.74 percent from 0.55 percent.

    Return on Assets (RoA) remained broadly stable at 1.53 percent in FY25, compared to 1.54 percent in FY24. The bank’s total assets grew by 44 percent year-over-year, reaching Rs 1,57,84,567 lakh in FY25, up from Rs 1,09,42,567 lakh in FY24.
