Andhra Pradesh is using the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos to position itself as a future-ready destination for investment, innovation and sustainable growth. Building on momentum from the previous year, the state is signalling its intent to compete with some of the world’s most advanced investment hubs.
A high-level delegation led by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, along with ministers Nara Lokesh and TG Bharat and senior officials, is engaging with global investors and policymakers to attract fresh investments and reinforce Andhra Pradesh’s image as a business-friendly, policy-driven economy, the state government said.
At Davos, the state is prioritising investments in green energy, green hydrogen, green ammonia, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and biotechnology- sectors it sees as critical to long-term economic resilience.
Policy push and governance reforms
The Andhra Pradesh team is presenting its policy initiatives and governance reforms to national and international companies, underlining improvements in ease of doing business and faster project execution.
Investors are also being briefed on outcomes from earlier engagements, including last year’s Davos meetings, where the state secured investment commitments worth Rs 2.36 lakh crore from 20 companies- a benchmark the government hopes to surpass this year, the government has said.
A key project highlighted at Davos is the Kakinada green hydrogen and green ammonia plant, which anchors the state’s clean energy ambitions. The CM is also pitching the upcoming Visakhapatnam Investment Summit as a platform to convert global interest into on-ground projects.
Quantum Valley and talent pipeline
A central pillar of Andhra Pradesh’s investment narrative is Amaravati’s proposed Quantum Valley, envisioned as a hub for quantum research, deep tech and advanced innovation, the statement said. Designed within a business-friendly policy framework, Quantum Valley aims to attract global technology firms, research institutions and long-term innovation partnerships, while strengthening India’s competitiveness in emerging technologies.
Alongside infrastructure, the state is focusing on talent development. Officials said Andhra Pradesh plans to train at least one lakh professionals to support quantum and AI ecosystems, with around 50,000 already enrolled under the Quantum Skilling Programme and related initiatives.
Global engagements and sectoral partnerships
On the sidelines of WEF, Naidu has held meetings with global leaders and companies across AI, semiconductors, renewable energy, defence, space technology, agri-tech and manufacturing. Discussions ranged from fast-tracking AI and data centre projects, including plans for India’s first AI University in Amaravati, to collaborations in ports, logistics, food security and clean technology with partners from the UAE, Israel, Switzerland and the US, it said.
He also used global platforms at Davos to highlight Andhra Pradesh’s push for AI-led governance, natural farming at scale, and nature-positive agriculture, positioning farmers as drivers of change rather than beneficiaries alone.
Naidu also interacted with Telugu diaspora from over 20 countries, reiterating the government’s commitment to support Non-Resident Telugus through a Rs 50-crore fund for entrepreneurship and the AP FIRST innovation and research platform to generate jobs.
