RIL also announced the establishment of a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool.

Reliance Industries and the Andhra Pradesh government on November 14 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a 1 GW artificial intelligence data centre as it seeks to cement its long-standing partnership amid a new wave of investments in the state, a company statement said.

The understanding was inked in the presence of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, IT minister Nara Lokesh and Reliance executive director PMS Prasad, the statement said.

The Mukesh Ambani-led company said it will build a fully modular, future-ready AI data centre, which will host world’s most advanced GPUs, TPUs and AI processors. The new facility in Andhra Pradesh will operate as a twin to the firm’s gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Gujarat’s Jamnagar.

“Andhra Pradesh is rising with purpose and intent. Reliance is not here just to invest. We are here to build. We are here to empower and to serve. Together, we will create a brighter, cleaner, smarter and more prosperous Andhra Pradesh - not only for this generation, but for many generations to come,” said PMS Prasad, Executive Director, Reliance Industries.

In addition, the company also plans to develop a 6 GWp solar project in the state to sustainably power its AI infrastructure.

RIL also announced the establishment of a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool. The park will be spread across 170 acres and equipped with world-class automated systems that will manufacture beverages, packaged drinking water and other products. The project is expected to generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs.

The company has already invested over $25 billion in the state across oil & gas, digital services and retail.

"Andhra Pradesh is entering a new era of technology-led growth, sustainability and industrial resurgence. I welcome Reliance’s landmark investments, which align with our vision to make AP a global hub for AI innovation, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing. These projects will generate high-quality jobs, open new opportunities for our youth, and accelerate the state’s journey towards a cleaner and more prosperous future,” CM Naidu said.
