Air India targets 272 planes by 2015 end

Air India plans to have 272 planes by the end of 2015. Its current fleet size stands as 135 and it plans to lease another 107 planes.

Air India plans to have 272 planes by the end of 2015. Its current fleet size stands as 135 and it plans to lease another 107 planes.  


The airlines expects eased planes to constitute 40% of the fleet by 2015 as against 15% now. Air India says it would now require around 1,500 cabin crew as part of its fleet expansion plan.


Air India says it is still in talks with Boeing for the Dreamliner delay compensation.

The airline sees 25% rise in its revenue this fiscal and said that it plans to restructure its domestic and international networks.
