Aurionpro Transit, a subsidiary of Aurionpro, has announced the integration of its app-based ORS ticketing solution with Google Wallet.
According to a press statement, this feature allows passengers to store their purchased tickets in Google Wallet as co-branded cards or QR code passes. Through the Aurionpro Transit app, customers can plan their journeys using Google Maps and directly purchase tickets, enabling interoperable and hassle-free travel, the company said.
For those who have enabled smart personalisation settings in Gmail, certain tickets and passes received via email—such as bus and train tickets—will automatically appear in their Google Wallet for a select group of partners.
Sanjay Bali, CEO of Aurionpro Transit, emphasised the benefits of using Google Pay for transit payments, stating, "Using Google Pay for transit payments ensures a quick, seamless, and secure process. We aim to help people feel more in control of their spending and encourage the use of sustainable transport."
Ram Papatla, GM and India Engineering Lead for Android at Google, highlighted the significance of this development. "The arrival of Google Wallet in India marks an important milestone in Android's journey in the country, bringing innovative and convenient experiences to simplify daily life."
This launch is expected to bring new levels of convenience for Android users across India, making everyday travel more efficient and user-friendly, the company said.
