Hinduja Group’s Ashok Leyland on Friday announced that its defence business has secured multiple orders worth Rs 700 crore. The company further said that the vehicles under the order will be used for troop transportation, logistics, and other specialised mobility requirements under the Close-in Weapon Systems (CIWS) program.

These include a diverse range of specialized vehicles, including the Stallion 4x4, Stallion 6x6, Short Chassis Bus, and Mobility System Travelling Platform.

The automobile manufacturer said that these vehicles will meet a variety of operation requirements as they combine reliability with off-road capability, providing better manoeuvrability across the country's most challenging terrains.

“For decades, Ashok Leyland has been a trusted partner in Defence mobility. We are immensely proud to have secured these new orders, which reinforce Ashok Leyland’s leadership in the sector and reaffirms our commitment to deliver cuttingedge solutions for the armed forces. The defence business remains a key pillar of Ashok Leyland’s future growth,” Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO, Ashok Leyland said after the order.

Ashok Leyland's stock was trading at 204.90, down by 3.75 points or 1.80% at 2:04 pm.
