Rose day, which kickstarts Valentine’s week, is a beautiful reminder of the joy flowers bring to lovers’ lives, especially women. Since time immemorial, roses have been used to express emotions beyond love, including joy and beauty. Just as a rose motif enhances the visual appeal of fabrics, rose-adorned hairstyles elevate any look.

Celebrities have frequently worn fresh roses as accessories to make glamorous appearances. Sonam Kapoor, Shalini Passi, and Mouni Roy have proven that buns, braids, and ponytails adorned with roses make any look exceptional and eye-catching.

Sonam Kapoor

The actress, known for her roles in successful Bollywood films such as Neerja, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Raanjahanaa, stunned everyone when she walked the ramp to pay tribute to the late designer, Rohit Bal, in the capital. She donned a crushed white maxi dress with a deep neckline, pairing it with a nature-inspired white jacket adorned with peacock motifs.

What stood out was her choice to use roses – one of the late designer’s favourites – placed on either side of her neatly centre-parted hair. Her red-toned makeup complemented by a bold red lipstick, completed the look.

Mouni Roy

The Naagin actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Gold, is a traditionalist at heart. She loves wearing ethnic attire and looked radiant in a yellow lehenga set for an event. She sported a classic choli with a pleated skirt and a matching dupatta draped neatly around her.

Mouni celebrated the ethnic look by styling her hair in a neat braid and adding fresh roses, which beautifully complemented the yellow hues of her outfit. Her accessories – an elaborate choker featuring rubies and emeralds – made the look even more vibrant.

Shalini Passi

Ever since the release of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives last year, Shalini Passi has been stealing the limelight not only for her sartorial choices but also for her eclectic accessories. For a television appearance, the popular Delhi socialite turned heads in a figure-flattering red fishtail dress.

It wasn’t the dress, however, that grabbed attention - her rose-adorned high ponytail was equally striking. The hairstyle perfectly complemented her cherry-red earrings and choker. Her look was further enhanced by a parrot-shaped bag and a cross chain necklace.
