Here are tips, suggested by Sharma, on how to introduce Vastu in your living room:

• Direction: The ideal direction for a living room is the north or east, as these directions bring in natural light and promote positive energy. North is associated with wealth and prosperity, while east aligns with health and joy. Place your main entrance in the north or east and position a large window facing east to let in the morning sunlight, creating an uplifting atmosphere.

• Seating arrangement: Arrange seating to encourage open communication. Family members should ideally face each other in a circular or square layout. Avoid sharp corners or awkward placements, as these can create discomfort or negativity. You can use a round coffee table with a sofa set arranged in a U-shape, ensuring that family members can converse comfortably while maintaining eye contact.

• Colours: Soft, warm colours like beige, light yellow, and soft greens encourage warmth and positivity, which supports healthy relationships. Avoid overly bright or dark colours, which can disturb the harmony. Paint the walls in a light pastel green and add beige cushions or curtains to create a soothing ambiance. Avoid overstimulating red or black tones.

• Clutter-free space: Clutter symbolises chaos in Vastu. Keep the living room organised to allow the smooth flow of energy and reduce stress levels. A clean, open space promotes calmness and mutual respect. Use fancy storage solutions like a hidden cabinet under the TV unit to keep remotes, books, or toys neatly tucked away, ensuring a tidy and spacious living room.

• Decor elements: Add plants like bamboo or money plants, which symbolise growth and peace. Avoid sharp-edged decor or furniture, as these can lead to feelings of aggression or irritability. Place a money plant in a ceramic pot near the east-facing window and opt for rounded or curved furniture like an oval coffee table to maintain a welcoming vibe.
