Trust Prada to attract the attention of the global audience by introducing little quirks to its luxurious collections. After the controversial Kolhapuri-inspired sandals, it has launched what you wouldn’t have heard of up until now: a chai-scented perfume, a beverage loved by many across the globe, especially Asians.

The luxury brand has launched the new perfume collection on its website, sharing a series of posts on Prada Beauty, its Instagram handle. It’s said that the scent is creamy, spiced, intense yet subtle, just how you’d expect your daily cuppa. Its dominant characteristics make it fall under the woody and milk fragrance family.

If you’re already tempted, we hear the key notes include chai latte accord, sandalwood, citrus, and musk. Doesn’t that make you wonder what’s not to love? Here’s what Prada has shared on its website to describe the perfume further:

“This fragrance explores the creamy and milky qualities of sophisticated sandalwood. The warm and comforting woody notes merge with a spicy chai latte accord, with cardamom adding an addictive and unexpected vibrancy to this composition. It is infused with bright fresh citrus and enveloped by comforting musks, which bring an intimate and clean feel to the scent.”

Infusion de Santal Chai is part of the unisex collection of Les Infusions. It is a clean, fresh, and comforting scent, packaged in a luxurious brown-coloured bottle with an elegant camel cap. Its design looks sophisticated and timeless, giving you the perfect excuse to sneak it into your pictures for a more aesthetically pleasing vibe.

This one’s priced at $190 on the brand’s official website, which comes to approximately 17k in Indian rupees. The high-end price tag is not surprising, considering it’s a luxury item from a renowned brand.

For those who may not be aware, Prada created a stir when it showcased sandals inspired by Kolhapuri chappals in its menswear collection last year. This drew backlash, as many accused the brand of cultural appropriation. The brand later acknowledged the artisans and decided to launch a limited-edition, made-in-India collection of these chappals next month.
