Dipika Kakar may not have been seen on television since her short stint in MasterChef India, but the actress is quite active on YouTube, where she shares life updates with fans. In her recent vlog, she shared experiencing severe hair fall due to her cancer treatment, scaring her to bits, especially after a shower.
Talking about the side effects of her treatment, the actress said, “There is hair fall, and it is very scary. After I take a shower, I don’t talk to anyone for 10-15 minutes. I am fearful of it, but rest is fine.” Dipika also shared that her blood test reports are fine and the tumor markers are normal; hence, she has been advised by the doctor to undergo the FAPI scan after two months.
The actress’s health woes began in May when she experienced persistent stomach pain, for which she underwent a CT scan. The scan revealed a malignant tumour in the left lobe of her liver, which her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, described as “the size of a tennis ball.” It was later discovered to be stage two liver cancer.
While she is undergoing treatment and recovering well, the actress often shares her experiences on days when she feels low due to the medication or its side effects. Even with a journey as tough as hers, she manages to keep a smile on her face on most days and enjoys the little things in life.
Last month, the actress celebrated her 39th birthday and thanked fans for all their love and prayers.
"Once again, I would like to thank you all for being the reason behind my smile so many times. Whenever you guys prayed for me and gave me strength, I smiled. And this time, my birthday was special — different for me, and for my family too. You all became a part of that feeling, too. So many messages, so many wishes, and so many prayers, once again, you guys have made me SMILE with all the lovely wishes flowing in. Thank you once again. Love you all."
