Ginger oil

This ancient oil is making a comeback for its stimulating and nourishing properties. Because it’s highly concentrated and strong, it is often mixed with carrier oils, such as jojoba, coconut, or sesame, before applying to the hair. Ginger oil is considered highly effective for improving circulation and delivering nutrients more effectively to the hair follicles. This helps to have stronger and longer hair.

How to use it?

Add a few drops to a carrier oil and gently massage the scalp. Leave it on for 30 minutes before shampooing. This can be done once a week.

Sesame oil

Sesame contains essential nutrients that prevent breakage and hair fall. Commonly used as a carrier oil for herbal infusions in traditional Chinese medicine, this one is a boon for those with dry, flaky, or itchy scalps. It helps restore moisture and protects hair from damage. When used consistently, it can strengthen hair. Celebrities like Shruti Haasan swear by it.

How to use it?

Massage the scalp after warming the oil. This is said to increase absorption. Leave it on for an hour or even overnight, and then wash.

Camellia oil

This one’s highly valued in East Asian traditions for its nourishing and moisturising properties. It’s been used for centuries to make hair appear shiny and beautiful. It  is known for conditioning, strengthening, and protecting hair from damage, a job that it does beautifully.  It’s packed with antioxidants to support healthy hair.

How to use it?

Massage it onto the scalp once a week or apply a few drops to damp hair and leave it on.

Ginseng oil

Ginseng has many benefits for the hair. In Asian traditions, it is used to improve blood flow and reduce inflammation. Its high nutrient content stimulates hair growth and strengthens the roots, preventing breakage and hair loss. Ginseng oil helps sensitive and irritated skin, as it reduces inflammation.
