This year, SBI is conducting the recruitment process to fill a total of 541 vacancies, which includes 500 regular posts and 41 backlog positions. The SBI PO role remains one of the most competitive posts in the public banking sector, with thousands of applicants expected to appear for the examination.
What Happens After the Prelims?
Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will be eligible to appear for the SBI PO Mains exam, tentatively scheduled for September 2025. The admit cards for the mains exam will be issued in August or early September.
Those who clear the mains will then move on to the final stage of the selection process. This includes a psychometric test, group exercises, and a personal interview. These are expected to take place in October or November 2025.
Final selection will be based on combined performance in the mains and the final stage. A merit list will be published after the interview round, listing the selected candidates for appointment as Probationary Officers.
