The Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) has postponed the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination, CPSE-2024. The written tests, which were originally scheduled to be held on October 5 and 6, 2025, have been deferred until further notice.
The decision was announced through a formal notice issued by the OPRB Chairman. The board cited "unforeseen developments" as the reason for this last-minute change, though the specific details were not disclosed.
The official notification from the Odisha Police Recruitment Board stated:
“In view of some unforeseen development, the Board decided to postpone the Written Examination CPSE-2024, which was earlier scheduled to be held on 05.10.2025 & 06.10.2025. Fresh date will be announced later.”
This announcement impacts all candidates who had applied for the Sub-Inspector of Police, Station Officer, and other posts under the Combined Police Service Examination (CPSE) 2024.
What Should Candidates Do Now?
With the sudden postponement, candidates are advised to stay calm and avoid any misinformation.
Candidates should regularly check the official Odisha Police Recruitment Board website (https://odishapolice.gov.in/) for the latest updates and the new exam schedule.
Also, they should not rely on unverified sources or social media speculation for information regarding the new dates. The OPRB will make an official announcement in due course.
CPSE-2024 Recruitment
The CPSE-2024 recruitment drive is conducted to fill numerous vacancies for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police and other positions within the Odisha Police force. The selection process involves a written examination, a Physical Standard Test (PST), and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
