The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has launched the recruitment drive for the Delhi Police Constable position. The commission has notified a total of 7,565 vacancies, inviting eligible candidates to apply online through the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in.

This recruitment drive presents a golden opportunity for lakhs of aspirants seeking a prestigious and stable career in the nation's capital's police force. The application process is entirely online and has commenced as per the detailed schedule released by the SSC.

Key Dates

Prospective applicants must carefully note the following important deadlines to avoid missing out:

  • Start Date for Online Applications: September 22, 2025
  • Last Date to Submit Online Applications: October 21, 2025 (by 11:00 PM)
  • Last Date for Online Fee Payment: October 22, 2025 (by 11:00 PM)
  • Tentative Date for Computer-Based Exam (CBE): December 2025 / January 2026

Eligibility Criteria: Age, Education, and More

Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the following eligibility norms:

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of July 1, 2025. This means the applicant's date of birth must fall between July 2, 2000, and July 1, 2007. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories as per government rules.

Educational Qualification: An essential requirement is passing the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) examination from a recognized board or university. However, a key relaxation exists for wards of serving and retired Delhi Police personnel (including bandsmen and drivers), for whom the minimum qualification is Class 11.

Driving License: Male candidates must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license (for car/motorcycle) at the time of the Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT). A learner's license is not considered valid.

Selection Process: A Three-Tiered System

The selection of constables will be a rigorous multi-stage process:

  • Computer-Based Examination (CBE): This will be the first screening stage. The exam will be objective in nature.
  • Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT): Candidates who qualify the CBE will be called for the PE&MT, which will be conducted by the Delhi Police in the national capital. This stage is qualifying.
  • Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a thorough medical examination at designated government hospitals in Delhi.

The final selection and merit list will be prepared based solely on the performance in the Computer-Based Examination, provided the candidate successfully qualifies in the PE&MT and medical tests.

Salary and Pay Scale

Upon final selection, candidates will be appointed to the post of Constable in Delhi Police under the Pay Level-3 of the 7th Central Pay Commission. The pay scale will be Rs. 21,700 – Rs. 69,100, in addition to other allowances and benefits as admissible to government employees.

How to apply for Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2025?

Applications will be accepted only in online mode. Candidates are advised to follow these steps:

Step 1. Visit the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in.
Step 2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process on the new SSC portal. Note: OTRs created on the old website (ssc.nic.in) are no longer valid.
Step 3. After OTR, log in and find the application link for "Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2025."
Step 4. Fill out the application form carefully, upload the required documents (photograph, signature), and submit the fee.
Step 5. The application can also be submitted via the 'SSC' mobile app.

Application Fee

The general application fee is Rs. 100. However, women, SC, ST, and Ex-serviceman candidates are exempted from paying the fee. Payment can be made using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by Credit/Debit Card.
