Kiku Sharda, 49, has always had his plate full when it comes to his professional commitments. Currently seen in reality TV Rise and Fall, a 42-episode show, the actor has decided to make a shift in his personal life by looking after his health, and weight loss is on the agenda.

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Kiku shared that he has gained more weight than he should have, and it’s time to correct it. As he gets older, he confessed it’s going to be an uphill task.

“I was much lighter when I was doing FIR or when I started doing The Kapil Sharma Show. I will never be a six-pack abs guy, nor do I wish to be. However, I do plan to lose weight because, with age catching up, it's not really the best physical state to be in,” he said.

The actor, also known for his brilliant comic timing, shared that he doesn’t care much about his career being affected after weight loss. He added, “I am not really bothered about how it will change my life in terms of being a comic actor, and even if I lose 20-25 kgs, I'll still be overweight.”

Kiku shared his weight loss plan, knowing fully well that he has a long way to go. “I have gone a little beyond what I should have been. In the next few months or at least in the next year, I do plan to lose some weight,” he said.

It has been no different for actor Ram Kapoor, 52, who confessed earlier this year that all his previous efforts to sustain weight loss didn’t work, as they involved crash diets and intense workouts. What finally worked for him was a change in mindset and lifestyle.

And what was his motivation to get fitter? Health complications that got worse with age and his young kids. The actor now follows a two-meal routine, with no snacking in between.
