Known to trigger weight loss by causing a feeling of fullness and reducing hunger cravings, its increased global usage has sparked widespread interest, with many people speculating about drastic celebrity weight loss associated with the drug.

While some international celebrities have openly discussed taking the drug, including some of its negative effects, others have categorically denied using it. Either way, they haven’t shied away from sharing their views on the drug. Here’s what they’ve said publicly.

Karan Johar, who in recent years has shed a massive amount of weight, has been accused of using the drug for his drastic transformation. However, in his tell-all interview with Raj Shamani, he denied it. “Now people ask me, ‘Are you on Mounjaro? Are you on Ozempic?’ I’m tired of these comments. People don’t know my truth.” Instead, he credited OMAD (One Meal a Day) for his weight loss along with weight training and paddle.

So I think that it’s important for everyone to hear my story. And I feel like there's a lot of people that can relate,” she said.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay in July 2025, the actor said, “It’s madness, ‘Ozempic liya hai.’ Toh kya hua? Ek zindagi jeeni hai, jo bhi shortcut doctor bol raha hai, lo! (You have taken Ozempic, so? What happened? You have one life, whatever shortcut the doctor gives, take it!)” said the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actor.

He also reacted to the trolling and judgments passed on by many in the industry, adding, “Karan Johar, me, all of us who go through this Ozempic nonsense, you know why we don’t react? It’s because we know all these people know it; they are mad.”

Chrissy turned to the weight loss drug in 2020 after she miscarried. It was her response to her “deep depression of seeing this pregnant belly with no baby in it,” she said on her podcast Self-Conscious. She added that she felt stuck after losing the baby at 20 weeks and gaining an extra 40 pounds. Her struggle with reduced hunger cues due to the medication was also a problem. “It was frustrating for me because I know that logically you need food to have energy,” she added.
