On Friday, Bigg Boss OTT 2 and YouTuber Elvish Yadav was granted bail in the snake venom case by a Noida court. Following this, a Gurugram court on Saturday granted bail to Yadav in an assault case against fellow YouTuber Sagar Thakur alias Maxtern. Elvish took to X and thanked his fans for all their support.
He wrote on his social media handle, “Thank you to all those who prayed for me, I am fine and in good health.”
Elvish Yadav even shared a few pictures on Instagram, posing with luxury cars in one and giving the thumbs-up gesture in the other. He captioned the pictures, “You cannot see time, but it can show you a lot.”
Even though Yadav has been granted bail, he can't walk out of the Greater Noida's Luksar jail just yet.
On March 17, Noida police had arrested Elvish Yadav after he was called for questioning in a case in which he and five Delhi residents are accused of allegedly selling snake venom as recreational drug at rave parties in the National Capital Region.
On March 8, Sagar Thakur had filed an assault complaint against Yadav. According to police, Yadav had called Thakur to Southpoint Mall on Golf Course Road to talk; and a purported video of the incident shows Yadav beating up the victim inside a room as the former greets him. Following this, Thakur fell to the ground and Yadav and his associates could be seen assaulting him. Based on a complaint by Thakur, an FIR was registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 149 (police to prevent cognisable offences), 323 (procedure when, after commencement of inquiry or trial, Magistrate finds case should be committed), and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) at the Gurgaon Sector 53 police station.
"The court heard the bail application and granted bail in the case. He will have to furnish two bail bonds of Rs50,000 each which would be submitted in the court," Prashant Rathi, Yadav's advocate told PTI.
"We have initiated legal proceedings. We would apply for provisional acceptance of the bail bonds so that release order is issued at the earliest. It may be issued tonight or may take a few days, considering court will be closed for Holi holidays from tomorrow," Advocate Bhati, another of Yadav's lawyer told news agency PTI.
According to police, the case was lodged under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, Indian Penal Code sections 120B (party to criminal conspiracy), 284 (negligent conduct related to poison that endangers human safety) and 289 (negligent conduct concerning animals).
Elvish Yadav has, however, denied any involvement in the purported supply of snake venom at the rave party.
