Yo Yo Honey Singh, a pioneering figure in India's rap and hip-hop scene, has long been a dominant force in the music industry. Recently, he shared his views on the current music landscape in interviews with Mid-Day and The Lallantop.

Honey Singh highlighted a critical observation about the industry today: while it focuses on creating streaming stars, only a few have achieved genuine superstar status.

He named AP Dhillon, Karan Aujla, and Guru Randhawa as the notable superstars of the past decade, while not considering Diljit Dosanjh in this category.

Honey Singh noted that Diljit Dosanjh was already a well-established figure before this era, implying that his success should not be measured by recent trends. He said, "Already [far ahead] in the game; he was already a legend."

Honey Singh expressed concern that many new artists are becoming popular through streaming but have not reached the enduring fame of true superstars. He believes this is a significant issue within the current music scene, where the focus on immediate streaming success might overshadow long-term impact and star power.

In his interview with The Lallantop, Honey Singh candidly criticized some of his own popular tracks. He labeled Blue Hai Paani Paani from the film Yaariyan 2 as the "most stupid song" he has ever written, admitting that it was completed quickly and lacks substantial content. Honey Singh also reflected on his hits Lungi Dance and Party All Night, admitting that he was unsure of what he was doing at the time and finds it amusing that these songs remain popular, "Now when I am asked to perform these songs, I laugh at myself because people are still crazy about these kinds of songs."
