Yash's upcoming film Toxic has encountered legal issues after the Karnataka Forest Department filed a case against the film's makers.
An FIR was lodged for the alleged unauthorized cutting of trees on forest land during the shoot in Bengaluru. The case names the General Managers of Canara Bank and Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) as responsible parties.
Karnataka's Environment Minister, Eshwar Khandre, recently visited the Peenya site and reviewed satellite images that allegedly highlighted the scale of deforestation. He instructed authorities to take strict action against those responsible for the illegal tree cutting in the area, which is designated as a reserved forest but is currently occupied by HMT.
Speaking with ANI about the same, Eshwar shared, "I personally visited the land where 'Toxic' movie is being shot.. Hundreds of trees have been illegally cut down for the filming of the movie on forestland under HMT's jurisdiction, which is visible in satellite images...We will take necessary actions against the people who violated the rules. Cutting trees in forestland without legal permission is a punishable offence."
'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups,' directed by Geetu Mohandas, is produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, with Yash leading the cast. While there were rumors about Kareena Kapoor Khan joining the film, there has been no official confirmation regarding the female cast yet.
