Yash to begin filming for next film soon

The much-talked-about film Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, has been making waves ever since its announcement, with fans eagerly anticipating its release.

The film is set to feature several popular stars in key roles, adding to the excitement surrounding the project. According to a new report from Filmfare, Yash is set to join the cast and begin shooting in March.

Yash will be playing the iconic role of Ravana, bringing his intense screen presence to the character. This addition is expected to elevate the film's appeal even further, as fans are eager to see how Yash portrays the powerful antagonist.

With an ensemble cast and high expectations, Ramayana is shaping up to be a grand cinematic spectacle.

A source revealed that Yash will begin filming for Ramayana in March. The KGF star was reportedly introduced to the project by Namit Malhotra during discussions about other potential ideas.

This collaboration marks an exciting chapter for Yash, who is known for his powerful performances, and his inclusion in the film has only heightened anticipation. With his intense screen presence, Yash is expected to bring a new dimension to the character of Ravana, making his role one of the most talked-about aspects of the film.

In a recent candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Yash opened up about the future of the KGF franchise and confirmed his involvement in the highly anticipated epic film Ramayana. Yash said, "If the character is treated like a character… if this doesn’t happen today, then the film won’t happen. To make a film with that kind of budget, you need those kinds of actors to come together."

He went on to explain that he was attracted to the role of Ravana because of the character's complexity and depth, calling it "the most exciting character" he has been offered in his career.

Yash shared that his participation in Ramayana came about after conversations with Namit Malhotra from DNEG and Prime Focus. Their shared vision for the film persuaded him to take on the role, and he was so invested in the project that he decided to co-produce it as well. "It’s a very fascinating character… there’s vast scope to present it in a very different way," Yash mentioned.

Ramayana will showcase Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with pre-production currently in full swing. A recently leaked picture of Ranbir and Sai in their costumes went viral, fueling more speculation about the film, which is slated for release in 2025.

Ranbir Kapoor has officially marked Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027 for the release of Ramayana Part 1 and Ramayana Part 2. The first poster of the film has been unveiled alongside the confirmed release dates, with Ranbir playing the role of Lord Ram. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the two-part epic is set to be a major event, and the release dates were confirmed by Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios.

In addition to Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, Ramayana also stars Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara, making it a star-studded cast for the epic film.
