Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and Hollywood legend Angelina Jolie shared the stage at an international awards ceremony in 2000, marking a significant moment in film history. At the event, which took place at London's Millennium Dome, the endearing and humorous actor presented the inaugural Best Actress award.

The historic evening, which was hosted by Anupam Kher and Yukta Mookhey, created a moment that fans still discuss today by showcasing a unique and spectacular crossover between two of the largest film industries in the world.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam won the Best Film, Best Director, Best Dialogue, Best Choreography, Best Cinematography, and two other sound categories in addition to Aishwarya's Best Actress award. Here's a closer look at the moment of epic.

Angelina Jolie and Shah Rukh Khan arrived on the stage by holding hands with the King Khan, saying, "Good evening, once again. This is really, really nice. And yes, more so now, because I’m in the company of Angelina.”

Angelina visibly blushed uncontrollably. After SRK prompted, the actress joined her hands together and said, "Namaste, India."

Aishwarya was unable to attend, but Shah Rukh announced the winner without any fanfare. Bhansali accepted the award on her behalf, but before he could exit the stage, Shah Rukh, in typical charm, called him back.

Angelina burst out laughing when he said, "We have to make sure that Angelina knows this is not Aishwarya Rai."

For the unversed, Aishwarya and Shah Rukh have collaborated on several blockbusters like Mohabbatein. Josh, Devdas, among others.

Shah Rukh is currently gearing up for his role in his daughter Suhana Khan's starrer King. The father-daughter duo will share the screen in the film for the first time. King is scheduled for a worldwide release in 2026.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh is also busy promoting his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood launch, which is slated to premiere on Netflix from September 18.
