During a conversation with Thanthi TV,  she described the moment, saying, “When he was walking down the stairs to meet me for an interview, I knew there was something about him… about us. I felt I had known him for a really long time.” Latha’s words reflected a sense of deep connection that transcended the mere initial meeting, an intuition that led her to feel a bond with Rajinikanth right from the start.

After watching the film Moondru Mudichu, her father came home and told her, “After watching Moondru Mudichu, he came home and said, ‘Mark my words, he will go places.’ And he genuinely enjoyed watching him on screen.”

Latha also recalled the first time she met Rajinikanth in person at the house of veteran actress Sowcar Janaki during the shooting of Thillu Mullu. Latha shared, “Before the meeting, I did a small prayer at my home, and made a mental pact with Lord Krishna, and said, ‘I don’t know why you are sending me to him, but I am going.’ In fact, I had just tonsured my head in Tirupati, and my hair was just growing back.” This moment, filled with prayer and faith, marked the beginning of a relationship that would change both of their lives forever.

When they finally met, it wasn’t just a typical first encounter. Latha described the moment when their eyes met, saying, “It wasn’t love at first sight. It was like we knew each other very well right at the first sight. I had no fear etc.”
