Renowned British actor Warwick Davis was honoured with the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship at the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards. The 55-year-old, known for his iconic roles in Willow and the Harry Potter series, delivered an emotional acceptance speech that left the audience deeply moved.
Davis was introduced by his Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton, who praised him for the profound impact he has had on the entertainment industry and on his personal life.
Taking the stage, Davis lightened the moment with humour, saying, “Wow, thank you so much. Well, this is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me—and I’ve been in Star Wars,” drawing laughter from the audience.
However, the mood quickly turned somber as Davis dedicated the award to his late wife, Samantha, who passed away in March 2024. Fighting back tears, he expressed his deep love and admiration for her: “She was always so supportive of my career and encouraged me to grab every opportunity with both hands.”
Davis also took a moment to express gratitude to his children, Harrison and Annabelle, for being his pillars of strength in the aftermath of his wife’s passing. “Thank you for helping me navigate life after my loss,” he said, visibly emotional. He also thanked Conclave star Ralph Fiennes for “teaching me to laugh and love again.”

The veteran actor used his platform to advocate for inclusivity in the film industry. Ahead of the ceremony, he released a statement saying, “I accept this fellowship in honor of everyone living with dwarfism or any form of difference, reminding us that our uniqueness can be our greatest asset.”
He pledged to continue pushing for better representation in the industry, stating, “This recognition is not just about the body of work I’ve contributed but also about the people who’ve stood by me and the audiences who have made this journey worthwhile.”
Davis now joins the ranks of legendary BAFTA Fellowship recipients, including Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, and Martin Scorsese. His speech, filled with warmth, grief, and gratitude, was a testament to a career built on resilience and passion.
