Tamil actors Vishal and Sai Dhanshika have known each other for more than a decade. The couple started their relationship as friends, which recently turned into a romance. After months of buzz, they have finally made their relationship official on Monday and announced their wedding date.

During a Yogi Da press conference in Chennai, Vishal and Dhanshika revealed that they will tie the knot in August. Dhanshika revealed that they initially planned to keep their romance a secret until their wedding, but viral reports about their relationship forced them to change their plans.

She told the media, "We didn't want to make the announcement at the press conference. However, a news report went viral this morning. We initially thought that we would maintain our friendship in front of the media before the event began. But, after the report, we felt there was nothing to hide.”

Talking to a fully packed house, the actress announced, “Vishal and I are planning to get married on August 29. I have known Vishal for the past 15 years. Whenever we met in the past, he treated me with due respect. When I was in deep trouble, he visited my home and raised his voice for me. No hero has ever visited my house. It was very sweet of him - his gesture was pleasing."

Dhanshika also shared details about her relationship with Vishal and said, “It was only recently that we started talking to each other. And we felt that it was leading somewhere. Mutually, we understood that we wanted to get married. I just want him to be happy. I love you, Vishal."

However, Vishal also attended the press conference and shared his enthusiasm about the news. He excitedly said, “My marriage is fixed. I've got a girl. Dhansika's father is here and with his blessings, I'm introducing her. I want to, I'd love to, and I am going to marry Dhanshika. She's a wonderful person."

Vishal quipped that they wouldn't end up like the infamous on-screen duo Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala from Kaalam Mari Pochu, referencing their comedic yet tumultuous relationship in the film.

He further explained that after seeing Dhanshika perform stunts in Yogi Da, he realized he needed to be cautious and prepared. He added that he should learn from the stunt choreographer, Pandian master, and understand how to block her moves, as her kicks could come close to his head. He hoped they wouldn't fight in such a manner, but expressed that they had a great understanding between them.

He then called himself ‘blessed’ and claimed that god saved Dhanshika for him. He also shared that they would lead a lovely life as they have a great understanding, adding, “I trust her."

Vishal assured that Dhanshika would continue her acting career after marriage, stating that he also promised she would act as she was a great talent and he didn't want her talent to be confined.
