The most recent episode of Ektaa Kapoor's 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2' has triggered backlash on social media. Viewers have criticised the makers for linking Amar Upadhyay's character Mihir to Lord Ram in a recent Dussehra storyline.

In the episode, Mihir returned for the Dussehra havan after leaving home due to a fierce disagreement with Tulsi, played by Smriti Irani. The subsequent scene has ignited controversy.

As Mihir walked into the house, a shot depicted him and Tulsi next to idols of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, with a devotional song honoring Lord Ram playing in the background. This visual comparison seemed to equate Mihir and Tulsi with Ram and Sita, which has upset the audience.

Shortly after the episode aired, there was a surge of criticism on social media.

Numerous users labeled Mihir’s character as toxic and manipulative and voiced their disappointment regarding the producers' choice to glorify him by comparing him to Lord Ram.

One user commented, "I honestly have no idea what kind of selective memory people possess... Mihir is among the most toxic, manipulative characters ever created, and yet they still idolize him as if he’s some kind of divine being? Please... This guy lacks self-control, has no respect, and is full of ego... Equating him with Lord Ram is not only incorrect but also an affront to the values of Lord Ram... They need to stop romanticizing this terrible character."

"I used to dislike it when Mihir and Tulsi were referred to as the Ram and Sita couple. Mihir is nothing like Ram; he's one of the most toxic male leads ever," another user expressed.

"How is it that everyone just overlooked the fact that this guy had an affair and fathered a child with another woman? In what reality does that qualify him as an ideal husband? Can someone clarify? Why did Tulsi even choose to remain with him after all that? This man would question his own wife but trust any random person who sheds even a single fake tear," another user criticized.

One more comment on a Reddit thread noted, "Ultimate patriarchy... good or bad... whatever he is... my husband is my god."

The current track revolves around Tulsi trying to convince Mihir that Pari is at fault. Mihir, on the other hand, after discussing with Naina, decides to get Pari married to Ranvijay, her boyfriend. Tulsi is trying to show the reality that Pari is at fault in Ajay’s case, and she has defamed them wrongly.
