Telugu actor Fish Venkat passes away at 53 due to multiple organ failure    

His family emotionally appealed for money to pay for his medical care in a last-ditch effort to save his life.

Popular Telugu actor Fish Venkat, whose real name was Venkat Raj, passed away on 18 July 2025 at the age of 53. He had been undergoing dialysis and was recently placed on a ventilator as multiple organs began to fail.

According to a report by Gulte, In recent weeks, Venkat's health rapidly deteriorated as he battled severe liver and kidney failure.

His family emotionally appealed for money to pay for his medical care in a last-ditch effort to save his life. Shravanthi, his daughter, disclosed that they were attempting to raise Rs 50 lakh for a kidney transplant that could save lives.

Actor Prabhas reportedly donated Rs 50 lakh to help with Venkat's treatment amid the outpouring of concern. The family subsequently clarified that these allegations were untrue, though.

However, real assistance did come from a number of sources. During the challenging period, celebrities like Pawan Kalyan and Vishwak Sen, along with a minister from the Telangana government, offered financial support.

The family made sincere pleas and a committed medical team worked hard, but they were unable to find a suitable kidney donor in time to save his life.

Fish Venkat was well-known for his perfect comedic timing and his distinctive Telangana accent, which gave each role he played a distinct flavour. Audiences were deeply impacted by his performances, especially in well-known films like Gabbar Singh, Adhurs, DJ Tillu, Hyper, Love Birds, and many more. Both the Telugu film industry and the hearts of his admirers who treasured his contribution to cinema are left empty by his passing.
