Actor Suriya’s police security officer (PSO) has fallen victim to a financial fraud involving the actor’s domestic help and her family.
According to India Today, police investigations revealed that this was part of a much bigger racket worth nearly Rs 2 crore, run by the same accused family.
The officer, Anthony George Prabhu, was cheated of Rs 42 lakh.
Investigators said that Sulochana, who worked as domestic help at Suriya’s home, along with her son, lured Prabhu into investing money by promising him high returns. To gain his trust, they even gave him 30 grams of gold in return for an initial payment of Rs 1 lakh.
Convinced by this gesture, Prabhu went on to invest more money and ended up transferring a total of Rs 42 lakh between January and February. But when he began asking for his money back in March, the family suddenly disappeared.
The case grew more serious when police discovered that the same family had cheated several others across Chennai, duping people of close to Rs 2 crore in total.
After a complaint was filed in July, an FIR was registered, and four family members—Balaji, Bhaskar, Sulochana, and Vijayalakshmi—were arrested.

All four had been working as domestic staff at Suriya’s residence and are now in judicial custody. Once the actor was informed about the fraud, he reportedly terminated their services immediately.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Suriya was last seen in the Tamil film Retro, alongside Pooja Hegde. The actor is currently gearing up for his next release Karuppu.
