Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer has officially confirmed that Volume One of the show’s fifth and final season is locked and ready to go. The first four episodes will hit Netflix on November 26, 2025, kicking off what’s already shaping up to be an emotional goodbye.
Duffer broke the update himself on Instagram, posting photos from the edit bay with “Property of Netflix” stamped across the screen. His caption read, “Chapters Three and Four: locked, mixed, scored, colored… Volume One is DONE.” That was all fans needed to send social media into meltdown.
And he didn’t stop there. On episode three, titled The Turnbow Trap, Duffer promised a full dose of classic Stranger Things. "The Turnbow Trap is the most classic Stranger Things-y episode of the season. It’s got all our favorite things. Directed by one of our idols Frank Darabont (Shawshank! Green Mile! Walking Dead!) , who literally came out of retirement for this. He crushed it, obviously."
Episode four, titled Sorcerer, sounds even bigger. Duffer described it as "Sorcerer is MASSIVE — as big as any finale we’ve ever done, and the most logistically insane shoot of our lives. We’re still recovering." That line alone was enough to spark wild theories across fan forums.

As for the schedule, Netflix will drop episodes one through four on November 26. The next three arrive on December 26, a Christmas gift for fans, and the grand finale will land on December 31, just before the New Year.
Fans, naturally, are asking for an early release. One joked, “If they’re ready, you could just drop Volume One now.” Another suggested a weekly rollout. But most, like one comment put it, are just excited: “Can’t wait to see all the hard work everyone did for this last ride."
