Sophie Turner, known for her role as Sansa Stark in 'Game of Thrones', recently opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Joe Jonas following their breakup. In a candid interview with Vogue UK, Turner shared insights into their current dynamic, shedding light on their post-split friendship and mutual respect.
Despite parting ways romantically, Turner emphasised that she and Jonas remain on good terms, maintaining a strong bond as friends. Despite the challenges following their separation, Turner and Jonas prioritise their daughter's well-being, fostering a supportive co-parenting relationship grounded in love and mutual respect. The 28-year-old—who shares daughters Willa Jonas, 3, and Delphine Jonas, 22 months, with Joe Jonas, is working on developing a new partnership with her ex.
"I'm unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children. They're the victims in all of this. But I think we're doing the best we can. I'm confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that's all that I can ask for," Sophie was quoted saying.
Their amicable breakup contrasts with the tabloid narratives often associated with celebrity splits.
"My dream is to have a huge Christmas where my daughters can have their dad there, Joe's whole side of the family, their grandparents. I don't care about the politics, I just want the girls to feel loved and have everyone show up for them," she added.
Speaking about the separation, Turner said while she felt welcome living with the Jonases in Los Angeles, she was also treated like something of an accessory to his boy band. “There was a lot of attention on the three brothers, and the wives. Well, we were always called the wives, and I hated that,” Turner said, referring to Priyanka Chopra and Danielle Jonas, the spouses of Joe's siblings.
“It was kind of this plus-one feeling. And that’s nothing to do with him – in no way did he make me feel that – it was just that the perception of us was as the groupies in the band,” she added.
As Turner continues to focus on her flourishing career and personal growth, her commitment to maintaining a positive relationship with Jonas reflects her maturity and resilience.
