Punjab continues to reel under devastating floods that have displaced thousands and submerged several villages, but actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has stepped in with on-ground relief with his team to help the Flood victims.
The Bollywood star, often hailed as a “real-life hero,” is currently in flood-affected areas of the state, distributing aid and offering reassurance to survivors.
Sharing a heartfelt message, Sood said, “We’ve reached some flood-affected areas in Punjab and are working to reach the rest. This is not just help — it’s our promise to stand with you, always.” He pledged that his team would not stop until every single family receives the support they need.
Sonu Sood became a household name for his humanitarian work during the COVID-19 lockdown, and has continued to expand his philanthropic reach. From arranging transport for migrant workers to providing healthcare and education, his relief efforts have repeatedly gone beyond the silver screen.
Currently in Punjab, the floods have claimed more than 30 lives and caused widespread destruction of crops, livestock, and homes. Rescue operations by government agencies like NDRF and BSF are ongoing, but with resources stretched thin, voluntary contributions are playing a critical role, and Sonu Sood this step adds one more reason why he called real hero.
Other Bollywood stars have also voiced their support for flood victims. Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal shared emergency contacts and relief details on social media to amplify rescue efforts.
For many affected people, Sood’s presence on the ground has become a source of comfort. At a time when things are worse in state, his commitment to personally reach out to affected families has been described by locals as “a ray of hope.”
